In October “Talk in the Park” event at Detroit will cover the topic “Managing Variability in agile Projects” by Dr. Sebastian Oster.

Agile Development and Product Line Engineering are two prominent approaches to address the raising complexity in software and systems engineering. In this talk we present the success story of a customer project in which we integrated both approaches and describe how our customer could benefit from major synergies.

The presenter:

After finishing his diploma in computer science at the University of Duisburg-Essen Sebastian Oster started his IT career as a software developer in the automation industry. In 2008 he began his PhD in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Technische Universität Darmstadt where he successfully finished is PhD Thesis „Feature Model-based Software Product Line Testing“ in 2011. During his PhD he supported various companies in the automotive and automation industry in Systems Engineering and Complexity Management as a consultant. In 2012 he joined Logica/CGI as Unit Manager and Project Lead focusing on Product Lifecycle Management and Product Line Management. Since 2013 Sebastian Oster manages Method Park Stuttgart and is furthermore in charge of the complexity and variant management portfolio at Method Park. In 2017 Sebastian Oster became member of the managing board at the Method Park Consulting GmbH.  Sebastian Oster is Head of the Baden-Wurttemberg Technical Automotive Group and Assistant Technical Group Leader Automotive Germany in the ASQF e.V.. He is author of numerous publications and often speaks on international conferences and co-founder of the Variant World 2017 conference.
