Operational Excellence in Engineering

While an increasing number of production processes are automated within the context of Industry 4.0, engineering processes, relevant for innovation and competitive advantages, still include activities which are primarily performed by humans. Which process management organizes such engineering processes in a reproducible, comparable, and complete form? How to comprehensive design the activities for employees? How to build a reusable process architecture which allows for practical and standard-compliant execution by humans? We answer these questions with a specific example for integration of process management (Method Park Stages) and workflow tools (IBM RTC, Jira) and demonstrate which steps can be reasonably automated in creative engineering processes, too.

The presenters

Ingo Lachner leads the Technical Sales team for Method Park’s process management tool, Stages. As systems engineering expert and experienced sales manager, he is the contact person for Method Park customers in the German-speaking area, for all technical questions about Stages. Ingo Lachner strengthens the partnership of Method Park and IBM, since he was sales and techsales manager at IBM for many years. 

 

Arne Bister works in the Technical Sales team of Method Park. He consults automotive industry customers on the process management tool “Stages” and supports them with the piloting and roll-out of ALM environments. He is mentor of a data migration project and supports the integration development of Stages with RTC/Jira. For these tasks, Arne utilizes 20 years of experience at Method Park’s partner IBM, where he was trained as Certified IT specialist. In addition, Arne Bister deals with many other topics, such as software development lifecycles, software configuration management or agile methods. He also profitably applies his know-how in the consulting and engineering units of Method Park.
