ASQF professional group for requirements engineering meets in Erlangen in April 2017

Dr. Sebastian Adam and Özgür Ünalan will demonstrate how tailored processes reduce requirements engineering in their presentation “More requirements, less engineering!”. This meeting of the ASQF professional group for requirements engineering will take place on April 27 at the Method Park location in Erlangen.

From the abstract:
Requirements are no self-purpose but basis for development of profitable products. Requirements engineering is no self-purpose as well – it exclusively generates requirements. To which extend is requirements engineering necessary and appropriate according to the corporate context? Tailored requirements processes offer promising solutions to answer this question. Definition and implementation of individually tailored approaches, however, is not easy. Training, for instance, often communicates general best practices only. This presentation includes a tool demonstration and explains a new approach to define and implement lean and company specific requirements processes which will lead to a more effective and efficient requirements analysis and reduce uncertainties during implementation of those processes.

The speakers:
Dr. Sebastian Adam completed his applied computer science studies with a diploma in 2005 at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern before he started working as consultant, researcher and team leader for requirements engineering at the Frauenhofer Institue for Experimental Software Engineering IESE for ten years where he implemented, consulted on and mentored requirements engineering processes in numerous companies. In 2012, he earnt his PhD for computer science on the topic of “reuse-oriented requirements analysis” at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern before he promoted the foundation of OSSENO Software GmbH where he takes on responsibility for product innovation, marketing and sales. He is IREB certified Requirements Engineer, trainer for CPRE and lecturer at the University of Mannheim.

Özgür Ünalan completed his applied computer science studies with a diploma at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern before he starting working as expert on software and requirements engineering at the Frauenhofer Institue for Experimental Software Engineering IESE for eight years where he addressed implementation of methodical concepts in applicable software solutions to implement software requirements engineering in companies.
