SOCS in Tokyo in August 2018

The 36th Standing Conference on Organizational Symbolism (SCOS) in Tokyo deals with the topic “Wabi-sabi”. Method Park will join this conference for the first time.

SCOS is a global network of academics from different disciplines and practitioners with individual professional backgrounds. SCOS was founded in 1981 as an autonomous working group of the European Group for Organizational Studies. SCOS deals with topics such as organizational research, social anthropology, cultural studies, media studies, philosophy, history, social psychology and politics.

The topic of this year’s conference is “Wabi-sabi (侘 寂): imperfection, incompleteness and volatility in organizational life”.

Method Park Principal Consultant Dr. Tobias Maier will give a presentation there with the title “Effects of a misled understanding of ‘Mastery’”.

Prof. Dr. Michael Lazarin of the Ryukoku University, Japan, gives the keynote on the topic “Making Progress in a Culture of Evanescence”.
